On Sunday, April 24, 2016, the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the area of June Rd & Bloomer Rd for reports of power lines in the roadway.

Upon arrival firefighters discovered 3 primary electric lines and 2 cable tv and phone lines that feed the North Salem High School down across June Rd. The wires were pulled down by a tractor trailer that was turning around in the school driveway. The trailer snagged the overhead lines and ripped them down causing a pole on school property to snap into 2 pieces.

June Rd was closed at the intersections of Bloomer Rd and Hardscrabble Rd.

Crews from New York State Electric & Gas and Verizon were on scene surveying the damage.
