On Monday June 27, 2016, at 15:36 the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to the northbound lanes of Interstate 684 for a reported multiple car rollover accident.

As responding units arrived on scene they encountered 2 vehicles that had crashed and each rolled over.

The driver of one vehicle was able to remove themselves from their vehicle. The other driver was still trapped in their vehicle requiring firefighters to pop the door open to remove the driver.

Both drivers were transported by Westchester EMS to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.

All lanes of I-684 were closed for 20-25 minutes while the cars were removed from the highway.
