On Saturday June 10, 2017, Croton Falls firefighters continued a local tradition by again welcoming home New York's newest high school sports state champions ... the North Salem Tigers baseball team. With two convincing wins, one on Friday, June 9, 2017 beating Avon 6-2 in extra innings and the championship game on Saturday, June 10, 2017 beating Potsdam 7-3, the Tigers were crowned the New York State Class C Champions for the 2nd year in a row.

After exiting Interstate 684 on the ride home from Binghamton University, site of the playoff games, the team's bus was escorted to the North Salem High School by firefighters from the Croton Falls Fire Department, North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps with assistance from the North Salem Police Department.

Awaiting the team at the school was an enthusiastic crowd of fans, students and family members, who helped make the weekend one that will not be forgotten by the players.
