On the afternoon of March 12, 2018 at 2:59 p.m. the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to Interstate 684 for a motor vehicle accident with the vehicle on fire. Our friends to the south, Bedford Hills Fire Department's Engine 198 and 1st Assistant Chief Alex Dennett (Car 2032), were first on scene as they were traveling on the interstate en route to Bedford Hills.

After Engine 148's arrival, the crew assisted with extinguishing the vehicle fire. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and refused medical aid from North Salem VAC. Units remained on scene while the vehicle was removed from atop the guardrail.

Units: Engine 148, Engine 149, Rescue 28, Bedford Hills Engine 198 & Car 2032, North Salem VAC 72-B2, Westchester EMS 45-Medic-2 and New York State Police

I watched it happen right in front of me going the opposite direction . I watched him drift into the rail. The truck slammed into the rail and then the truck bounced high and on to the center Guardrail. I watched the truck burst into a fireball as it was heading right at me. It rode the gaursrail for a good distance. If he had come off that rail and into the opposite lane i may not be writing this. Been looking for an artical on this. Thank you for posting.
