On Friday, December 27th at 18:42 Croton Falls Fire was dispatched for a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident on I-684 northbound south of exit 7 in Purdys. Car 2073 (Asst. Chief Daday) was the first Croton Falls unit to arrive on scene and confirmed a tractor trailer into a tree with the driver out of the vehicle. As additional Croton Falls units arrived, firefighters established a safety zone for responders to safely operate, confirmed the fuel tanks were not compromised and assisted NSVAC and WEMS with patient treatment and transport.

Croton Falls firefighters were on scene for two hours with the New York State Police before the scene was turned over to the recovery company for an extended operation to pick up debris and cargo before the tractor trailer could be removed.
