Croton Falls Firefighters Battle Structure Fire

At 12:06 on Thanksgiving afternoon the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to a Baxter Road home for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival Croton Falls Fire Department 1st Assistant Chief Dan Dreyer encountered heavy fire on the roof at the 1-2 corner of the 100' X 60' 3 story, wood frame residential structure and immediately requested the first alarm assignment.

Mutual aid was quickly dispatched thanks to the quick response of the 60 Control dispatchers. The main body of fire was knocked down in less than 60 minutes and the fire was placed under control at 13:58.

The cause of the fire was investigated by the Westchester County Zone 5 Cause and Origin Team and determined to be accidental in nature.
