Telecommunications week

Every year the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community, are honored.

With that said we’d like to take the time to acknowledge and thank our friends at the Westchester County Emergency Communications Center (ECC) commonly referred to as "60 Control". They provide primary dispatch services for 52 fire departments and 32 EMS agencies in Westchester. The center is staffed 24 hours, seven days a week to handle fire and EMS incidents as well as mutual-aid requests within, in to and out of the county.

The team at “60” is a dedicated, professional and highly trained group providing exceptional services to the first responders, residents and guests in the county day in and day out. Over the past few months the ECC has implemented the use of their pandemic surveillance tool for COVID-19 in their EMD protocols. This has led to providing advanced awareness and early notifications to all first responders they dispatch, allowing the use of “recommended PPE Precautions” in an effort to keep responders safe, especially early on during this pandemic.
