On Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to Headquarters for a child with his finger stuck in a piece of wood.
The caller utilized the emergency call box located at the front door of headquarters. First arriving units found a 4 year old boy who had his finger stuck in a wooden toy railroad track.

Firefighters first tried soap to ease the finger out, then ice but neither method worked. Eventually the wood was cut away from the boys finger, with no injuries.
The child was then given a tour of Headquarters before heading home with his much relieved parents.
