Croton Falls Fire was dispatched to a reported basement fire this afternoon on Baxter Road. Upon arrival, Car 2071 observed smoke throughout the basement and first floor of the house. 60 Control re-dispatched a working basement fire, resulting in additional Croton Falls Fire units to the scene. Ladder 67 arrived first due and stretched an 1 3/4” hose line to the basement door while Engine 148’s crew entered to locate the source. Units determined an electrical fire and issue with a hot water heater in the basement. The appliance was isolated and units vented the structure prior to clearing. All fire units operated for over an hour.
