On Saturday May 21, 2016 at 17:34hrs the Croton Falls Fire Department (CFFD) was dispatched to the area of Route 22 and Owens Road for a reported car into a pole with the pole down on the car. Firefighters pulled up on scene to find a small box truck which had rolled over onto the passenger's side and struck a telephone pole causing the pole to snap in two.

The driver of the truck was not severely injured and was assisted out of the truck by fellow motorists prior to CFFD's arrival. Route 22 was closed in both directions for about 45 minutes while Bryson's Towing uprighted the truck.

The driver was treated and transported to Northern Westchester Hospital by the North Salem Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

A representative from New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) was on scene surveying the damaged pole.
