Numerous accidents on snow-covered I-684 keep firefighters busy

At 12:53 on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, the Croton Falls Fire Department was dispatched to I-684 in the area of exit 8 northbound on the ramp for a reported rollover accident with 1 person trapped in a vehicle with injuries.

Car 2072 was first to arrive and confirmed there was a vehicle rolled over on its side with one person trapped in the vehicle. Firefighters had to remove the windshield to extricate the driver from the vehicle. The driver was transported to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries by North Salem VAC and a Westchester EMS paramedic.

The I-684 exit 8 northbound ramp was closed for approximately 1 hour. The vehicle was removed by Bryson's Towing.

During this incident Croton Falls Firefighters also responded to 2 other rollover accidents on I-684 south of exit 8 with minor injuries. The patients in those accidents were taken to Putnam Hospital by Westchester Ems 40-A1. All incidents were cleared by 2:30 pm.
