The Croton Falls Fire Department encourages building owners to install a KnoxBox, which will help firefighters gain access quickly during an emergency. A KnoxBox keeps property keys in a safe & secure box on your building.

You may be asking how does a KnoxBox work. It’s simple and we'll explain:
- The fire department is dispatched to your address for an alarm/emergency.
- Upon request from a firefighter, our dispatch center transmits a radio signal that releases a KnoxBox key that is secured in one of our fire trucks.
- A firefighter then uses our key to open the KnoxBox on your building and retrieves your property key and opens your door without damage.
- Firefighting investigation or operations can begin instantly.

To order a KnoxBox, follow these simple steps:
- Click the following link to launch Knox’s website: www.knoxbox.com
- Click the red “Buy” button in the upper right corner.
- In the pop-up window, select New York as your state, enter Croton Falls as your local fire department and then click Croton Falls Fire Dept when it appears as an option.
- Click the red “Search” button.
- In the next pop-up window, click the red “Select” button next to the text showing Croton Falls Fire Dept.
- On the “Products” page, scroll down to the “Categories” field and select either “Commercial KnoxBoxes” if you’re buying for a business or “Residential KnoxBoxes” if you’re buying for a house.
- On the webpage showing the product, click the red “View” button.
