March 4, 2022

Croton Falls was dispatched for a mutual aid response at 05:52 today for a reported commercial structure fire at the New York Sports Club facility on Route 6 in Carmel. While enroute, we received an update there was a small fire in the women’s locker room. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the sprinkler system had extinguished the fire and checked the ceiling and surrounding areas for fire extension.

This call is a good example of a sprinkler system acting as designed and expected: the fire was contained and extinguished before it could spread and cause more damage to the building or endanger occupants.

Croton Falls units were released by the Carmel FD incident commander at 06:30.

Units: C-2071, C-2072, C-2073, E-149
