Croton Falls Fire had a busy Friday afternoon to kickstart the weekend. At 12:37 hours, units were dispatched to Titicus Road for a motor vehicle accident with a motorcycle down. Car 2071 arrived on scene and observed one patient with an arm injury. Rescue 28, Engine 149, and Engine 148 responded, while numerous DEP and North Salem PD units were on scene. The patient was transported and the roadway was reopened after about forty minutes.

At 16:03 hours, Croton Falls was requested to respond to Rockland County to standby for the West Haverstraw Fire Department. Car 2073 and Engine 149 responded, along with Yorktown Car 2533, Engine 274, and Thornwood Engine 88. After arriving, a Ladder from Monroe, an Engine from Tuxedo, and a Tiller from Nyack were assigned to standby with E149, E274, and E88. Shortly after arriving in West Haverstraw, Croton Falls and Yorktown received an assignment to respond to 9W and Short Clove Road to assist with brush fire operations. Engine 149 staffed with six firefighters stretched multiple hand lines and operated along the wooded area adjacent to the train tracks. On the opposite side of the road, fire conditions were rapidly increasing with limited access. Multiple Aviation units assisted firefighting operations with the use of their Bambi Buckets. Croton Falls was supplied water by Mahwah NJ Tanker 5 while operating multiple hose lines. After several hours of operating, 2073 and E149 were released by Rockland County Command.

While 2073 and E149 were operating in Rockland County, Car 2072 and Engine 148 responded to a working house fire in the Somers Fire District. The fire originated in the kitchen and extended into the attic. Car 2072 and E148 assisted with fireground operations for about one hour before returning in service.

While returning, Croton Falls was dispatched to Fields Lane for a CO Alarm. Cars 2071, 2072 and E148 signed on responding. Upon arrival, units forced entry and found CO levels of 200 PPM and rising, as well as multiple alarms sounding. While setting up for ventilation, Croton Falls was dispatched to an additional alarm across the district. Car 2072 and U48 responded and handled that run, while E148, T88, T8, R28, and U28 remained on scene at Fields Lane. The cause was determined to be from a forklift inside the structure and units vented the building for an hour before returning.

Shortly after 2073 and Engine 149 arrived back in district, Croton Falls was dispatched to a brush fire growing on a residence. Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the fire and overhauled the 30’ x 30’ area that was burning. Cars 2072, 2073, MA17, E148, E149, T88, and T8 responded.
